November 1st 2019, Amery House 4-6 Terminus Road, Cowes, UK
Laser Safety Course: Safety Aspects of Laser Use in Dentistry
Conference Overview
This is a rare opportunity to listen and learn under the guidance of a World leading clinician, educator and clinical scientist. Definitely not to be missed!!
The safe and proficient use of dental lasers offer many benefits to both patients and the practitioner. However: it is an absolute requirement to ensure that patient, staff and operator safety has not been compromised.
This is the only dedicated dental laser course available in the UK that fully satisfies the requirements as set out by the MHRA guidance.
Conference Overview
Laser safety is applicable according to the class of laser being used. Within the classification of lasers, there is a range from Class I to Class IV, with subclasses relevant to laser operation using optical magnification (loupes, microscope, etc.).
Specific risks apply to the unprotected eye and skin, according to the laser class and wavelength. Non-beam risks exist, including those posed by the laser plume.
It is mandatory therefore that those personnel involved in the delivery of laser photonic energy that is capable of risk to unprotected ocular and non-target tissue should undergo training sufficient to alert them to their responsibility.
Prime amongst this responsibility is to any patient receiving such therapy.
