This one day detailed hands on course covers all the essentials so you can safely and effectively use an Er,Cr:YSGG laser. Given by Dr Mark Cronshaw who is a highly experienced laser operator as well as an Internationally acclaimed expert in oral laser use this course is the perfect introduction for a new user of the Biolase Inc. Waterlase all tissue laser.
COURSE CONTENT: Complimentary 1 hour pre-course Tutorial – Laser INTRO.
One day combined didactic and practical exploration of theΒ Β WATERLASE LASER in dentistry.
The one-day training course, led by Mark is developed aroundthe use of the Er,Cr:YSGG erbium laser. This laser is considered an βall tissueβ laserthrough its capacity to target soft tissue, hard dental and osseous tissue. The presentation is offered as an inclusive one-day event, with didactic slide presentations, together with a practical session to allow techniques to be developedon animal oral tissue. The course is further supported by a dedicated user manual.
Courses are scheduled for weekend attendance to maximise attendance opportunity.The course is ideal for those new laser users as well as providing an opportunity for complete novices to establish a grounding in erbium laser technology and application. The erbium laser training day course is open to all members of the dental team.
Course Content
- Photobiomodulation therapy: accelerated healing, reduce pain and swelling, treat aphthous and herpetic ulceration, lichen planus, management of TMD, earlier and enhanced osseous-integration with implants, accelerated orthodontic tooth movement & the management of trauma including nerve damage.
- Soft tissue surgery: gingivectomy, gingivoplasty, frenectomy and frenotomy, vestibuloplasty, operculectomy, troughing, depigmentation, arrest of haemorrhage
- Periodontal management: bacterial reduction and periodontal therapy for early to moderate chronic adult periodontitis
- Endodontics: bacterial reduction, activation of irrigants, decontamination of sinus tracts Desensitization, prevention of caries & management protocols……and more! Optimum settings for initiation, how to check and calibrate your laser etc.

Dr. Steven Parker
DR STEVEN PARKER is Honorary Professor in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, De Montfort University, Leicester. He has received publication in over 75 peer-reviewed papers on lasers in dentistry. He serves as associate-editor of Lasers in Medical Science. From 2010 β 2020 he worked as Contract Professor and Lead Faculty of the Academic Master Degree (MSc) in laser dentistry at the University. He served as President of the Academy of Laser Dentistry in 2005-6. Steven completed his PhD in laser photonics and PBM at De Montfort University, Leicester.
Dr. Mark Cronshaw
DR MARK CRONSHAW is a highly active clinician and clinical researcher. He hasrecently published papers on oral mucositis, orthodontic applications of oral lasers plus some highly innovative original research on photobiomodulation therapy. He has taught or many years on the acclaimed Oral Lasers Advanced Masterβs Degree programme at the University of Genoa. Most recently he is engaged in ground breaking research into oral laser applications at Birmingham University Dental Hospital and De Montfort University in Leicester. He is a Director of the Dental Laser Training Academy Ltd along with his co-Director Dr Steven Parker. He maintains a private practice in Cowes Isle of Wight. He is currently completing his PhD in laser photonics at De Montfort University, Leicester.
